If you suffer from conjunctivitis, what should you do?

Bathing in the morning and evening and wearing clean clothes also help in preventing conjunctivitis.
To protect yourself from conjunctivitis (eye infection) and to reduce its severity, never go outside without wearing glasses with light green, black, or blue lenses. Do not ride a motorcycle or bicycle without wearing glasses, as particles and smoke in the air can enter the eyes and cause conjunctivitis. Avoid looking at bright lights or shiny objects.
Do not watch television without wearing glasses, and keep the TV screen at a reasonable distance. As a preventive measure, dissolve 50 grams of white alum in 5 litres of water, add 200 millilitres of rose water, and keep the solution at home. Wash your eyes with this solution in the morning and evening to stay protected from the potential onset of conjunctivitis.
Also, avoid touching your eyes after shaking hands with someone who has the disease.
Prevent dust and smoke from getting into your eyes. Apply cold compresses (ice packs) to your eyes. If you feel itching or irritation, do not rub your eyes forcefully — try not to rub them at all. Use turmeric on a tissue to clean any discharge from the eyes.
In terms of diet, consume goat meat, bottle gourd (lauki), ridge gourd (tori), and round gourd (tinda) in broth form without red chilli. Chapati, especially those cooked on a griddle (tawa), is also beneficial.
Among pulses, mung beans and porridge (daliya) are excellent food choices. Avoid potato-filled naan, meat-stuffed breads, and similar bakery items completely. Stay away from store-bought soft drinks, and it is safer to quit tea and coffee altogether. Additionally, taking a bath in the morning and evening and wearing clean clothes helps in preventing conjunctivitis.
